Socialism 2007
17 - 18 November 2007
University of London Union, Central London
Socialism 2007 is a weekend of discussion and debate hosted by the Socialist Party, taking place on 17-18 November 2007.
Greg Maughan
The annual Socialism events have become an important and regular fixture in the calendar, with the last two both attracting in excess of 1,000 workers and young people over the course of the weekend.
Socialism 2007 represents an important opportunity for workers engaged in struggle across the country to come together, share experiences and discuss a socialist alternative. It also gives an opportunity for young people just discovering socialist ideas to find out about the rich history of workers' struggles. If you're interested in socialist ideas, involved in trade union or community campaigns or want to discuss the fightback then Socialism 2007 is the perfect place to go.
This year is the 90th anniversary of the Russian Revolution of 1917. The Russian Revolution is a truly inspiring event and a theme running through Socialism 2007 will be the relevance of those events for us today.
As former Liverpool councillor Tony Mulhearn said of Socialism 2006: "What separated this event from many others organised in the labour movement was not just an exposition of the nature of modern capitalism and the politically corrupt character of the Tories, Liberals and New Labour, but the clearly worked out socialist alternative."
Whether you're new to socialist ideas and want to find out more, or if you've been campaigning for decades, Socialism 2007 is an unmissable event.
