Our Planet, not Private Profit
For Decent Public Transport!
Public transport, such as buses and trains, has been privatised. Costs have gone up and services are worse. But public transport could play a key role in reducing the amount of pollutants emitted.
We demand:
- Big business out of public transport! Reverse all privatisation. Renationalise the transport system under democratic control and public ownership, including research.
- For affordable and available train, bus and other forms of public transport. A cap of 50p for a local journey. For concessions for young people, pensioners and others on low incomes.
- A programme of massive public funding into research to make these modes of transport greener.
- Democratic involvement of users and trade unions in the running and planning of these services.
