G8 leaders' 'world hunger' banquet

GOVERNMENT LEADERS from the world's most powerful capitalist countries have been meeting at the G8 summit.

They are discussing a world heading rapidly for recession, the climate change issue and the world food crisis where growing starvation and upwardly spiralling prices have caused huge protest movements, particularly in the world's poorest countries.

However, the world's leaders seemed more interested in the huge feast prepared during the summit.

The highlight was an eight-course, 19-dish dinner prepared by 25 chefs at a luxury Japanese hotel.

They started with corn stuffed with caviar, smoked salmon and sea urchin, hot onion tart and winter lily bulb, followed by items from a tray modelled on a fan, then hairy crab Kegani bisque-style soup, salt-grilled bighand thornyhead (it's a fish), milk-fed lamb, roasted lamb with crepes, and black truffle with emulsion sauce.

Oh, and wines and liqueurs.

Now the whole world has to watch these greedy guts pontificating on, but failing to act on, world hunger.
