Striking for trade union rights
UCU members at Nottingham Trent University were on strike on 21 October against the de-recognition of the union by the university management. 100 pickets were out across the campuses, and a similar number attended the strike rally at lunchtime, giving an indication of the determination of the strikers.
UCU deputy general secretary, Michael MacNeil said: "We will not tolerate union-busting tactics in this university".
