Stoke Axiom action continues

Despite six days of strike action by Axiom Rail workers in Stoke, management have refused to carry out any meaningful negotiations over the pay increase workers are asking for.

However, the strike remains solid with up to 50 turning up to picket lines despite some horrendous weather. Further one day strikes on Mondays and Fridays are planned as well as a work to rule.

It's not surprising these skilled workers are asking for an increase because they are being paid up to £4 an hour less than workers doing the same jobs for the same company in different parts of the country! As Mick on the picket line said: "Why should we work for less money than other workers. What have they got against Stokey workers?"

The arrogant attitude of Axiom bosses has only served to make the lads on strike even more determined and many are already looking at ways that the action can be escalated.
