Socialism 2007

BRITAIN IS a divided country, with life for the super-rich seeming like another world all together. While thousands of workers queued for hours outside Northern Rock, fearful they could lose their life savings, the Bank of England bailed out company chiefs, just as they did with Barclays Bank a few weeks ago to the tune of £312 million.

If we were to owe that sort of amount we’d be more likely to get knee-capped than bailed! More and more people are saying ‘enough is enough’ and are looking for an alternative.

Socialism 2007 will play host to speakers from across the spectrum of the workers’ movement. It is a vital event for workers who are sick to the back teeth with New Labour following the bosses’ agenda.

The Rally for Socialism on Saturday 17 November will see Brian Caton, POA general secretary, Mark Serwotka, PCS general secretary and Matt Wrack, FBU general secretary, amongst others, discuss the way forward for workers’ struggle and offer a framework for how we can fight back.

The weekend as a whole can act as a hub for socialists, trade unionists and working-class people who want to discuss the socialist alternative and fight back against Brown and his ilk. For more details and to get your ticket now, go to socialism2007.net
