Clare Wilkins, Nottingham Socialist Party

The third part of the history of the Socialist Party is a must read. Not only is it a history of the party and the Committee for a Workers’ International (CWI) from 2007 to 2019.

It also provides a history and Marxist analysis of events in Britain and the rest of the world, and the central role of the working class and workers’ movement in shaping and reacting to them.

The Covid crisis is the ‘great accelerator’, because it has speeded up processes already at play in capitalism.

For me it was a page-turner. It is equally good to dip in and out of chapters and groups of chapters.

The book provides a unique and vital context for the world we live in, the tasks facing us, and how to fight back and build for socialism. Reading it now, I found it the best of the three books.
