It was made with the leadership of the Aslef transport union and presided over by the Trade Union Congress (TUC) - they and the Tories hope it will settle the Southern Rail dispute.

If Tata can't find a buyer it will sack 15,000 workers. Three times as many support workers will also lose their jobs. Reports have surfaced that the company will set 28 May as the deadline date, meaning workers have just over a month to save their jobs and communities.

The junior doctors and their union the BMA are in the front line of attacks on the NHS. After two one-day strikes in January and February, the latest stage of their campaign of industrial action was a 48-hour strike on 9-10 March. It will continue with two further 48-hour stoppages in April.
