Socialist Party member Suzanne Muna is standing to represent London and Eastern region on the Unite union executive.

Suzanne has been backed by the union’s United Left (UL) for the byelection and is now appealing for branch nominations.

Suzanne is secretary of LE1111 housing workers’ branch, which has been involved in several industrial disputes as housing organisations attempt to attack terms and conditions.

This has included Suzanne’s own employer the Homes and Communities Agency, One Housing Group and the significant victory for all workers at St Mungo’s Broadway in the autumn.

Suzanne has been also involved in drafting a set of workplace standards for the union to defend and fight for in the Not for Profit Sector.

The election of Suzanne would strengthen Unite in both current and future battles.

Branches must nominate at meetings up to 28 February, with nominations to be received by noon on 6 March.

Suzanne’s details for London and Eastern branches are: Unite housing workers’ branch LE1111, membership number 15692878, contact: [email protected].
